Finland's government has said that no decision has yet been taken on whether Veikkaus should be granted a licence to operate a national online bingo site. This despite news that Boss Media has already been awarded the contract to provide software and services to the site.

Michael Hallén, President and CEO of Boss Media, has announced his resignation from the company effective May 13th.  Mr. Hallén will be replaced by seasoned GTECH executive Rahul Parekh.

CryptoLogic has today announced an exclusive three year licensing agreement to provide poker solutions to OPoker, a new online poker site aimed towards the Scandinavian market.

Magna Entertainment's woes have worsened with the release of its first quarter results showing a net loss of $46.5 million including discontinued operations. This adds to net losses of $113.8 million, $87.4 million and $105.3 million for the 2007, 2006 and 2005 financial years respectively.

Youbet.com, the U.S. horse racing content and wagering provider, has reported a 51.2% fall in net income for the first quarter of 2008 to $0.77 million. The news came in a week that saw the company blocked from offering bets online in the build up to the Kentucky Derby, and a system failure at its United Tote subsidiary, for which the company will be liable to pay compensation.

888 Holdings plc has continued the company's policy of widening its entertainment offerings with the announcement this morning of a three year licensing contract with CryptoLogic's subsidiary WagerLogic.

Microgaming has signed up three new licenses to its Microgaming Poker Network; bookmakers JenningsBet, Sunderlands and Eurofootball. All three are expected to go live within the next few weeks.
